What happens when we run out of time?

Understanding Time

Time is a human concept that is relative and can be perceived differently depending on our perspective. From a scientific standpoint, time is often considered a dimension that allows us to measure the duration between events. However, from a biblical perspective, time is a gift from God that allows us to experience the world around us. The Bible teaches that God is eternal and exists outside of time, and that our existence is temporary and limited by time.

The Consequences of Running Out of Time

When we run out of time, we face the reality of eternity. The Bible teaches that our time on earth is short and that we should make the most of it. In Jesus' parable of the talents, He warns against being idle and unproductive, saying, "This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God." (Luke 12:21) When our time runs out, we will be accountable for how we used it. If we have not invested our time in building a relationship with God and serving others, we will face the consequences of our choices.

Eternal Consequences

The Bible teaches that our choices in this life have eternal consequences. When we die, our souls will either go to heaven or hell, depending on our relationship with God. If we have not accepted Jesus as our Savior, we will face eternal separation from God in hell. However, if we have accepted Jesus, we will spend eternity with Him in heaven. The Bible teaches that God is not bound by time and that He exists outside of it. Therefore, our time on earth is a gift that should be used to serve Him and others, and not just to accumulate wealth and possessions. When we run out of time, we will be judged based on our choices, and our eternal destiny will be determined. (2 Corinthians 5:10)
