The Nature of God's Truth

In the Bible, God is depicted as the ultimate source of truth. His words are described as truth, and He is identified as the God of truth. The apostle John writes, "Your word is truth" (John 17:17), emphasizing the inseparable connection between God and truth. This understanding is further reinforced by the Holy Spirit, who is referred to as the "Spirit of truth" (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13). The Spirit's role is to guide believers into all truth, and He does so by speaking the words of God, which are always true.

God's Truthfulness and Omniscience

As the omniscient God, He possesses complete knowledge of all things, past, present, and future. This means that His words about Himself and creation are always accurate and reliable. The Bible states that God never lies (Hebrews 6:18), and His words are not subject to contradiction. In fact, any fact that may arise to contradict His truth will be found to be false. This is because God's knowledge is perfect and His words are always consistent with reality. As the Bible says, "God is a God of truth, whose word is truth" (John 17:17).

The Embodiment of Truth

The person of Jesus Christ is the ultimate embodiment of truth. He is the Son of God, full of grace and truth (John 1:14). As the truth, Jesus speaks the words of God, and His words are always true. The apostle John writes, "The Spirit is the truth" (1 John 5:6), highlighting the close relationship between the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and truth. This understanding emphasizes that truth is not merely a concept or a set of facts, but a living, personal relationship with God, who is the ultimate source of truth. In this sense, God's truth is not just a collection of statements or principles, but a person, Jesus Christ, who embodies the very essence of truth.
