Biblical Answer

When every door seems to be slammed shut, it can be overwhelming and disheartening. It's as if the world is closing in on us, and we're left feeling trapped and helpless. But the Bible reminds us that God is sovereign over all creation, and He is working everything out for our good (Romans 8:28). We must trust in His goodness and sovereignty, even when we don't understand what's happening.

In Matthew 25:10, Jesus says, "But the door was shut." The door in question is the door to the kingdom of heaven. Many people will try to enter, but the door will be shut to them. This passage teaches us that God's sovereignty is not just about His power, but also about His justice and mercy. He is not arbitrary or capricious in His dealings with us. He is a God of love and justice, and He will not let us continue in sin. But He also offers us a way out, a way to escape the door marked "Temptation" and walk through the narrow door of salvation.

So, how do we keep going when every door seems to be slammed shut? We must shut our own doors, the doors of our hearts and minds. We must deliberately shut the door on temptation and sin, and seek to enter through the narrow door of salvation. This means being still before God, shutting the door on our wandering thoughts and desires, and seeking to know Him and His will for our lives. It means trusting in His sovereignty and goodness, even when we don't understand what's happening. And it means being willing to take the first step, to open the door of our hearts and let God in. As Jesus says, "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to." (Luke 13:24) We must be willing to take the risk, to trust in God's goodness and sovereignty, and to seek to enter through the narrow door of salvation.
