Your Question:

How do I even start to heal?

Answer:

Healing can be a complex and multifaceted process. As someone who has walked through the valley of depression and has come out the other side, I can attest to the fact that it's not always easy. Sometimes, we need to confront our own faulty theologies and lies that Satan uses to deceive us. For me, it was the lie that God wants to heal me because He loves me and has a wonderful plan for my life. When He didn't, I felt like I was in a tailspin of self-pity and despair.

The first step in healing is to pray and seek God's will. As the Bible says, "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:14). This means that we need to come before God, confess our sins, and ask for His healing power. We also need to be willing to take the initiative to overcome, just like the man with the withered hand in Matthew 12:13. We need to "stretch out our hand" and take the first step towards healing.

Healing is not just about physical ailments, but also about spiritual and emotional wounds. As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with deep-seated issues that require more than just a quick fix. It takes time, effort, and a willingness to confront our true natures and the lies that hold us back. But with God's help, we can overcome and find healing. As the Bible says, "We are more than conquerors through him who loved us" (Romans 8:37). So, let's take the first step, ask for God's help, and trust that He will guide us towards healing and wholeness.
