can i still have a sense of security
We often seek security in the wrong places, which can lead to a false sense of security. This can be seen in how people react to lawbreakers, where a police car provides a sense of security, but if they have broken the law, their attitude changes. Similarly, Satan offers a false sense of security, which can lead people to engage in evil activities. On the other hand, true security comes from Jesus Christ, who offers peace and protection.
A false sense of security can also come from our own possessions and accomplishments. If we put our trust in these things, we can never know the inward calm and peace that should characterize the Christian. This is because our possessions and accomplishments are changeable and wavering, and we can never be sure of them. Instead, we should put our trust in God and His sovereignty over all creation. This will give us a true sense of security, not based on our own abilities or possessions, but on God's power and authority.
In order to have a true sense of security, we need to acknowledge our own weaknesses and limitations. We need to recognize that we are not self-sufficient and that we need God's help and guidance. This means being honest with ourselves and acknowledging areas of our lives where we are vulnerable and open to attack. By doing so, we can begin to trust God more fully and find true security in Him, rather than in our own abilities or possessions. As the Bible says, "Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him." (Jeremiah 17:7) This is the kind of security that we should be seeking, not a false sense of security that is based on our own strengths and abilities.
