Understanding the Distant God

When we feel that God is distant, it's not necessarily because He's not near us. Rather, it's because we're not aware of His presence or we're not relating to Him in the right way. The Bible tells us that God is always near, but we can't see Him with our physical eyes. We need to come to Him by faith, just like Jesus said in John 20:29. This means that we must consistently focus our minds and hearts upward, seeking to know Him and understand His ways.

The Reason for Feeling Distant

Sometimes, we want God to be distant because we're afraid of His judgment or we're not sure if He wants to help us. This can be a result of not knowing God's character or not understanding His love for us. Jesus had to experience every human sin and sorrow, which makes Him seem unfamiliar to us. But when we see His humanity and His willingness to come to our rescue, we begin to understand that He's not distant, but rather, He's a loving Father who wants to be near us.

Overcoming the Sense of Remoteness

To overcome the sense of God's remoteness, we need to focus on getting to know Him better. We can do this by reading the Bible, praying, and seeking to understand His character. We also need to remember that God is a person, and our relationship with Him has a dimension of warmth and understanding. When we see God as a loving Father, we begin to understand that He's not distant, but rather, He's always near, waiting for us to come to Him by faith. As we focus on getting to know Him, we'll begin to experience His presence in our lives, and the sense of remoteness will fade away.
