Embracing a New Normal: Understanding God's Sovereignty

When we consider the concept of "new normal," we're compelled to reflect on what God has established for his people. In 2 Peter 1:5-7, the Apostle Peter emphasizes the importance of developing a foundation of character, starting with faith, and adding virtue, knowledge, and other essential qualities. This passage reminds us that our lives should be built on a firm foundation of spiritual growth, which is the norm for God's people.

However, when we look at examples like Job, we see that even in the midst of trials and challenges, God's people are called to normalize their relationship with Him. In Job 1:1-5, we see Job's initial prosperity and success, but in 1:21 and 2:10, he affirms his trust in God despite his suffering. This is a powerful reminder that our relationship with God should be characterized by trust, obedience, and a deepening understanding of His sovereignty. By normalizing our relationship with God, we learn to trust in His goodness, even in the midst of uncertainty and difficulty.

In embracing a new normal, we must recognize that God's sovereignty is not limited by our circumstances. He is the all-powerful, all-knowing God who governs all creation. Our lives should be a reflection of this truth, as we learn to trust in His goodness and sovereignty, even when we don't understand what's happening. By doing so, we can develop a deeper sense of peace, joy, and contentment, even in the midst of challenges. As we normalize our relationship with God, we can experience a new normal – one that is characterized by faith, trust, and obedience to His will.
