Answer:
As I reflect on the question of why God let you break your foot, I'm reminded of a conversation I had with a member of our church who was struggling with a similar issue. She had asked me why God allowed her to go through a painful divorce. My response was that God doesn't always intervene to prevent suffering, but rather He allows us to go through it so that we can learn and grow from the experience. In the same way, God may not have prevented you from breaking your foot, but perhaps He allowed it to happen so that you could learn to be more careful or to appreciate the importance of taking care of your body. Or maybe it was a test of your faith, to see how you would respond to the pain and discomfort. Whatever the reason, it's clear that God is sovereign and is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with the question of why God allows suffering. But the truth is that God's ways are not always our ways, and we can't always understand why He allows certain things to happen. What we can do is trust in His goodness and sovereignty, and know that He is working everything out for our benefit. As the Psalmist says, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
