Your Question:
Why did God allow this to happen
Answer:
As a pastor, I've had to grapple with this very question many times. Why did God allow certain events to occur, especially those that seem to go against His will? It's a mystery that has puzzled theologians and believers alike for centuries. According to Scripture, God does not take pleasure in the destruction of the ungodly, but He does permit them to reject and disbelieve by their own volition. In my own life, I've experienced situations where I've wondered why God didn't intervene. For instance, I once broke my foot in a careless accident. It was a painful and humbling experience, and I couldn't help but wonder why God didn't stop me from being careless. But the truth is, God's ways are not our ways, and His reasons for allowing certain events to occur may not be immediately clear to us. As the Bible says, "God is infinitely wise and we are not, and it pleases him when we have faith to trust his wisdom even when we do not understand what he is doing" (1 Peter 4:19). I believe that God's ultimate goal is to bring about good, even in the midst of suffering and hardship. He is a loving and sovereign God who is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). While we may not always understand why He allows certain events to occur, we can trust that He is working everything out for His glory and our ultimate good. As the Bible says, "Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will do right and entrust their souls to a faithful Creator" (1 Peter 4:19).
