The Bible teaches that when we die, our bodies will return to the dust from which they were made (Genesis 3:19), but our souls will live on in the presence of God. This is not a return to nothingness, but rather a transition to a new existence, where we will be with Christ and experience eternal joy and peace (2 Corinthians 5:8). The Bible also teaches that our bodies will be resurrected on the last day, when Christ returns to earth (1 Corinthians 15:51-54).
