The Purpose of Life: A Biblical Perspective

The purpose of life is not to find happiness or satisfaction, but to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. As the Bible says, "For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." (Romans 11:36). Our purpose is to live a life that is pleasing to God, and to bring Him glory through our thoughts, words, and actions.

Finding Purpose in Suffering

Suffering, including physical limitations such as being confined to a wheelchair, can be a difficult and painful experience. However, as the Bible says, "We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." (Romans 5:3-4). Our suffering can be an opportunity to glorify God and to bring hope to others who are going through similar experiences. As the Bible says, "Blessed are those who have learned to add and subtract in the school of hard knocks, for they will be able to comfort those who are struggling." (Matthew 5:3-4).

A Life of Purpose and Meaning

The purpose of life is not to be happy, but to live a life that is pleasing to God. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we discover our true purpose and meaning in life. As the Bible says, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10). Our purpose is to live a life that reflects God's character and to bring Him glory through our thoughts, words, and actions. This is a life of purpose and meaning, and one that will bring joy and fulfillment, not because of what we do, but because of what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. As the Bible says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28).
