I can relate to feeling like every door is closing. As a pastor, I've seen many people face challenges in their personal and spiritual lives. It's easy to get discouraged when it seems like every obstacle is blocking our path. But I've learned that it's in those moments that we need to dig deep and find the strength to keep moving forward.

For me, it's about perspective. When I'm feeling overwhelmed, I remind myself of the bigger picture. I think about my family, my wife Susan and kids Joshua and Rebecca, and how much they depend on me. I think about the impact I want to have on our church community and the people we serve. When I focus on the things that truly matter, it helps me to push through the tough times and keep moving forward.

As I read through the passage, I was struck by the idea that keeping our family close requires effort and intentionality. It's not always easy, especially when life gets busy. But it's in those moments that we need to make a conscious decision to prioritize our relationships and make time for each other. For me, that means setting aside time for family activities, like playing catch with Joshua or watching the Cubs game with Rebecca. It's not always easy, but it's worth it to keep our family tight and together.
