Biblical Answer

When we feel like God is distant from us, it's often because of our own sin and separation from Him. The Bible says, "The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous" (Proverbs 15:29). This means that God is present in every part of space, but He acts in response to our moral condition. If we have made a separation between ourselves and God through sin, we may feel like He is distant. However, God is always seeking us and wants to be near to us. As the Bible says, "When I was looking for God, He found me" (emphasis mine).

The reason we can't see God or physically interact with Him is because He exists in a spiritual realm that is beyond our human comprehension. We can't see Him with our physical eyes, but we can experience His presence through faith. As the Bible says, "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed" (John 20:29). God is not just a concept or an emotion, but a real, living person who desires a relationship with us. He is immanent within every aspect of our lives, but we can't detect Him with our physical senses. Just as we can't see radio frequencies with our unaided eyes, we can't see God's presence with our physical eyes.

So, how can we overcome the sense of remoteness from God? We can start by recognizing that God is not just a concept or an idea, but a real, living person who desires a relationship with us. We can begin to experience His presence through faith, prayer, and scripture. We can also recognize that our sin and separation from God may be the reason we feel distant from Him. By acknowledging our sin and seeking forgiveness, we can begin to experience God's presence and nearness in our lives. Ultimately, God's presence is not just a feeling or an emotion, but a real, living reality that we can experience through faith.
