Understanding Purpose in Life

As a Christian, our purpose in life is not found in our work, but in our relationship with God. The Bible teaches us that our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever (Psalm 16:11). Our purpose is not something we can discover through our own efforts or intellect, but rather it is something that is revealed to us through our relationship with God. We are called to depend on God and His power, and to put His purpose to work in our lives.

The Relationship Between Work and Purpose

While work can be a significant part of our lives, it is not the source of our purpose. In fact, the Bible teaches us that our work is a way to serve and glorify God, not the other way around. When life becomes chaotic and our circumstances change, it can be difficult to find our purpose. However, the Bible teaches us that our purpose is not found in our circumstances, but in our relationship with God. We are called to stay calm, faithful, and unconfused in the midst of turmoil, and to put God's purpose to work in our lives. This requires us to trust in God's sovereignty and to depend on His power. When we do, we are able to find purpose and meaning in our lives, even in the midst of chaos. As the Bible says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). Our purpose is not something that is limited to our circumstances, but it is something that is rooted in our relationship with God.
