What's the point of fighting when I'm still in pain?!
I can imagine that you're feeling overwhelmed and in pain right now. It's understandable to feel that way, especially when you're struggling with depression. But I want to encourage you to consider something that might seem counterintuitive at first: fighting back against your pain. Now, I know it might seem like your pain is a constant companion, and that it's a big part of who you are right now. But the truth is, pain can be a distraction from the battle that's really going on inside of you. When we're preoccupied with our pain, we can lose sight of what's truly important: our relationship with God and our walk with Him.
You see, pain can be a sign that we're not living in the present moment, and that we're not trusting God to take care of us. When we're in pain, it's easy to get caught up in feelings of anger and resentment. We might feel like God has abandoned us, or that He's not doing enough to help us. But the truth is, God is always with us, even in the midst of pain. And He wants us to trust Him, even when things are hard. It's not about avoiding pain altogether, but about learning to trust God in the midst of it. As the Bible says, "We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope" (Romans 5:3-4). So, even in the midst of pain, we can choose to trust God and to persevere.
Now, I know it's not easy to do this. It takes a lot of courage and faith to trust God in the midst of pain. But I want to encourage you to take a step back and assess your pain. Are there things that you're doing that are contributing to your pain? Are there things that you're not doing that could help alleviate it? Maybe you're holding onto anger or resentment, or maybe you're not taking care of yourself physically or emotionally. Whatever it is, I want to encourage you to take action. Don't just sit in your pain and let it consume you. Fight back against it. Pray to God for help and guidance. Seek out support from friends, family, or a counselor. And remember that God is always with you, even in the midst of pain. He loves you and wants to help you through this difficult time. So, take a deep breath, trust God, and keep moving forward, even when it's hard.
