Why Does God Have to Take Everything Away from Me?

The question of why God has to take everything away from us is a complex one, rooted in our human tendency to hold onto things that are not ultimately ours to possess. As the Bible reminds us, "the earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it" (Psalm 24:1). When we look at the world and our lives through this lens, we begin to understand that everything we have is a gift from God, and that it is His right to take it away at any moment.

As we trust in God's goodness and sovereignty, we can begin to see that His taking away of our possessions is not a loss, but a gain, and that we are not losing everything, but gaining something far greater.
