The Search for God

When we ask, "Where is God when I need Him?" it may be a sign of desperation, a cry for help in the midst of trials and struggles. We may feel abandoned, left to face our problems alone. However, the Bible teaches us that God is always present, even in the midst of our struggles. He is the One who formed us, breathed life into us, and put us to work in this world. We are not alone; God is with us, guiding and leading us, even when we don't feel His presence.

God's Sovereignty and Presence

God's sovereignty is not limited to certain places or circumstances. He is present everywhere, filling immensity. As the Bible says, "God is at home with God anywhere" (Psalm 139:7-12). He is not confined to a specific location or situation. His presence is not dependent on our feelings or circumstances. We can seek Him with an open and receptive heart, and He will be found. As the Psalmist declares, "Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there" (Psalm 139:7-8).

Seeking God

When we seek God, we must be willing to seek Him with our whole heart, not just a feeble cry after a painful experience. We must narrow our focus and interests to this one thing: seeking God. As the Bible says, "Seek, and you will find" (Matthew 7:7-8). God is not absent from us; He is present, guiding and leading us. We must learn to trust in His sovereignty and presence, even when we don't feel His presence. By seeking Him with an open and receptive heart, we will find Him, and our lives will be transformed. As the Psalmist declares, "I will seek your face, O Lord" (Psalm 27:8). Let us seek God with our whole heart, and we will find Him.
