When Everything Falls Apart: Cultivating Dynamic Faith

When everything seems to be falling apart, it can be challenging to maintain our faith. It's essential to understand that faith is not about feeling good or having a sense of security, but about trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness, even in the midst of uncertainty. In such moments, we must remind ourselves that our faith is not based on our emotions or circumstances, but on the unchanging truth of God's character and promises.

To cultivate dynamic faith, we must establish a daily personal time with God, where we talk to Him and He talks to us as friends. This prayer-relationship helps us understand His plans and purposes, even when we can't see the way ahead. We must also be willing to take a leap of faith into God's provision, trusting that He will do something, even when we don't know what He will do. As the Bible says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). We must listen to God's Word and pray specifically about our obstacles, asking for Christ to enlighten us and give us strength to overcome them.

In times of crisis, we must not abandon our faith, but instead, believe steadfastly on Him. We must remember that our faith is not a feeling, but a deliberate commitment to the Person of Jesus Christ. As the Bible says, "The testing of your faith produces patience... that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing" (James 1:4). By persevering in our faith, we will grow stronger, and our faith will not fail while God sustains it. We must continually use our faith, just like developing strong muscles, or we will lose our strength. By doing so, we will experience the dynamic faith that enables us to overcome even the most daunting challenges.
