Can I really trust God to give me a new purpose?

Understanding God's Sovereignty and Purpose

As a Christian, we must understand that our purpose in life belongs to God, not us. We are to trust in His sovereignty and power to guide us through the ups and downs of life. The Bible reminds us that God is not a man that He should lie, or a son of man that He should repent. He is unchanging in His promises, and once He has promised something, He will not be unfaithful to that promise (Isaiah 46:9-11). This means that we can trust in God's plan and purpose for our lives, even when we don't fully understand it.

Updating Our Life Plan and Commitments

When we face changes or challenges in life, it's essential to update our life plan and commitments. We may need to adjust our path to achieve our goals, but our purpose remains the same - to depend on God and His power. The Bible encourages us to keep our commitments, especially our commitment to meet with God daily in prayer and reading His Word. By doing so, we can stay calm, faithful, and unconfused, even in the midst of turmoil. As we focus on Jesus and His purpose for our lives, we begin to live by faith, and our understanding of our ways becomes surrendered to the Lord (Psalm 37:4).

Trusting God's Purpose and Timing

Ultimately, trusting God's purpose and timing requires faith and surrender. We must acknowledge that God sees as the goal itself, and His purpose is to enable us to see that He can walk through the storms of our life right now. If we have a further goal in mind, we are not paying enough attention to the present moment. By focusing on Jesus and His purpose for our lives, we can trust that God is guiding us towards His will. As we run the race of life, we are encouraged to look at Jesus, who is the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). By doing so, we can trust that God will give us a new purpose, and we will be able to fulfill it according to His plan and timing.
