Can God really heal my body?
Can God really heal my body?
Healing is a divine gift from God, and He has the power to heal our bodies. The Bible says, "By His stripes we are healed" (1 Peter 2:24). Jesus also said, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you" (John 15:7). This means that if we have a personal relationship with Jesus and His words live in us, we can ask for healing and it will be done.
However, God's will is not always to heal everyone. Sometimes He chooses not to heal, and this is not because He is not powerful enough or because He doesn't care. Rather, it is because He has a greater purpose in mind, and healing may not be part of it. We can see this in the story of Job, where Job's friends thought that God was punishing him for his sins, but God actually used Job's suffering to teach him and others about His sovereignty. Similarly, when Jesus healed people, He often did so in a way that pointed to His power and glory, rather than just giving them physical healing.
So, can God really heal my body? Yes, He can. But it's not always His will to do so. Sometimes, God chooses not to heal, and this is not because He is not powerful enough or because He doesn't care. Rather, it is because He has a greater purpose in mind, and healing may not be part of it. As we pray for healing, we should remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). We should trust in His sovereignty and His goodness, even when we don't understand why He is not healing us. And we should always remember that healing is not the only thing that God can do - He can also use our suffering for His glory and our good. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
