Your Question:
Can I really trust anyone anymore?
Answer:
As a pastor and a husband, I've come to realize that trusting others is a delicate matter, especially with teenagers who are learning to navigate their own decisions. While it's essential to trust them and acknowledge their good intentions, it's equally crucial to acknowledge that their judgment may not always be sound. I've learned to say, "I trust you; I know your heart is gold, but I'm hesitant to trust your judgment in certain situations. Let's work together on that." However, my trust is not in people; it's in Jesus. I've come to understand that when I invest my trust in people, fear and depression can reign. But when I trust in Jesus, I find strength and peace. I've learned to distinguish between trusting in people and trusting in Jesus, recognizing that the latter is the only true source of security and peace. As I've grown in my faith, I've come to realize that my trust should be in Jesus' character, not just in what He did. In fact, I've been reflecting on the importance of trusting in Jesus, rather than in messages, books, or prayers. I've come to understand that my trust should be in a Person, not just in a concept or a feeling. Jesus' message is clear: "Thy sins are forgiven thee." But can I truly return to Galilee, to a place of complete trust in Jesus? Can I truly hear Him say, "Thy sins are forgiven thee"? These are serious questions that I've been grappling with, and I'm learning to seek Jesus' character and presence in my life.
