The Point of a Relationship with God

A relationship with God is not about getting answers to our prayers, but about having a perfect and complete oneness with Him. When we pray, we are not just seeking answers, but also seeking to deepen our fellowship with God. This is why God wants us to pray, not just to get what we want, but to spend time with Him and build a relationship with Him.

Why God May Not Answer Our Prayers

There are times when God may not answer our prayers, not because He doesn't hear us, but because we don't really believe that He will answer. We may not be fully trusting of God's sovereignty and goodness. We may also be praying with self-centered motives, seeking answers only for our own benefit. When we pray with these motives, we are not truly seeking a relationship with God, but rather seeking to get what we want from Him.

The Importance of Trusting in God's Word

Instead of trusting in answered prayer, we must trust in the Word of God. We must believe that God is good and sovereign, even when our circumstances do not change. We must have faith that God is working in our lives, even when we don't see the answers we are seeking. This is the kind of trust that God is looking for, not just a trust in getting what we want, but a trust in His goodness and sovereignty. When we have this kind of trust, we will find that our relationship with God deepens, and we will experience a sense of peace and joy that is not dependent on getting what we want.
