Your Question:

Is God just allowing me to suffer for no reason?

Answer:

As a pastor, I've had to grapple with this question many times. It's natural to wonder why God would allow us to suffer, especially when it seems senseless or unjust. But the Bible teaches us that God is not a distant, uncaring deity who allows us to suffer for no reason. Rather, He is a loving Father who is actively involved in our lives, even in the midst of suffering.

The Bible says that God's purposes are not always immediately clear to us, but that doesn't mean they're not good. In fact, the Bible teaches that God can use our suffering for our own good, to refine us, to teach us, and to draw us closer to Himself. This doesn't mean that God causes our suffering, but that He is gracious and loving enough to make it count. He can take our pain and use it to bring about something beautiful.

As I reflect on my own life, I've seen this to be true. My family and I have faced our share of struggles and hardships, but through it all, God has been faithful and loving. He's used our suffering to teach us, to grow us, and to bring us closer together as a family. I'm not saying it's always easy, but I am saying that God is good, and that He is worthy of our trust, even in the midst of suffering.
