Biblical Answer

The Bible teaches that we are not strong enough to overcome sin on our own. In fact, Paul writes in Romans 7:14-25, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do... For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in me, making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me." This shows that even believers struggle with sin and are not strong enough to overcome it on their own. However, this is not a reason to give up, but rather a reason to rely on God's strength. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." This shows that God's strength is made perfect in our weakness, and that we should boast in our weaknesses so that God's power can rest on us.

When we face challenges and struggles, it can be tempting to give up and turn back in defeat. But the Bible teaches us that faith must be tested, and that it can only become our intimate possession through conflict. In James 1:2-4, it says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." This shows that trials and challenges are opportunities for us to grow and become more mature in our faith. When we face struggles, we should look beyond our present troubles and see them as opportunities for growth and development.

So, what can we do when we feel weak and unable to face our struggles? The Bible teaches us to rely on God's strength and to seek Him in our weakness. In 2 Corinthians 12:8-10, it says, "Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." This shows that when we are weak, we are actually strong in God's power. So, instead of trying to rely on our own strength, we should seek God's strength and rely on Him in our weakness. We should boast in our weaknesses and let God's power rest on us, so that we can face our struggles with confidence and courage.
