Biblical Answer

God gives us things, but He also takes them away. This can be difficult to understand, especially when we feel like we need something or someone in our lives. However, God's intention is not to take away everything from us, but to guide us and lead us closer to Himself. He wants us to trust in Him and His sovereignty, even when things don't go as we planned. When we look at God, we see that He is seeking us more than we are seeking Him. He wants us to come to Him, not just to get what we want, but to experience a deeper relationship with Him.

When we pray and things don't turn out as we expected, it can be tempting to give up on God. We might feel like He's not listening or that He's not doing what we asked. But God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). He knows what's best for us, even when we don't. He's not trying to take everything away from us, but to remove the things that are holding us back from Him. He wants us to be pure and holy, not just in our actions, but in our hearts. When we come to Him, He removes our insincerity, pride, and vanity, and reveals to us that He loves us not because we're lovable, but because it's His nature to do so.

So, why does God have to take everything away from us? The answer is not that He wants to, but that He wants us to be completely His. He wants us to surrender everything to Him, not just our possessions or circumstances, but our very lives. When we do this, we experience a deeper level of intimacy with God, and we begin to see the world and our lives through His eyes. It's not about getting what we want, but about being who we are meant to be - children of God, loved and cherished by Him. As the psalmist says, "He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me" (Psalm 91:14). God is our Savior, our Deliverer, and our Rock. We can trust in Him, no matter what.
