Can I still have faith when everything feels like a test?
When we face difficulties and challenges, it's natural to wonder if our faith will hold up. The Bible teaches that faith is not just about intellectual understanding, but a deliberate commitment to Jesus Christ, even when we can't see the way ahead (Hebrews 11:1). When we're faced with obstacles, we can either let them weaken our faith or use them as opportunities to grow stronger. As the Bible says, "the testing of your faith produces patience...that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything" (James 1:4).
To build faith in the midst of challenges, we need to take a leap of faith into God's provision. This means being willing to take bold steps of faith, even when we can't see the way ahead. As Jesus said, "Blessed is he who is not offended because of Me" (Matthew 11:6). We need to have confidence in Jesus and trust that He is working everything out for our good. When we pray specifically about obstacles in our lives, asking for Christ to enlighten us and give us strength to overcome, we can experience faith-building moments that help us grow stronger.
The key to building faith is not to intellectualize or analyze, but to deliberately commit to Jesus Christ. As the Bible says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). We need to be willing to take a step of faith, even when we're not sure what the outcome will be. As God has taught me, so you can learn the same lessons. Each day, we can take a faith-building exercise, such as clearing the way mentally, praying specifically, and taking a bold step of faith. By doing so, we can experience faith that grows stronger with each challenge we face.
