The Sovereignty of God in Creation

God created the sky as part of His sovereign plan to bring into existence a universe that reflects His glory and character. The Bible teaches that God is the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe, who brought into existence everything that exists (Psalm 104:24, Isaiah 44:24). In the book of Genesis, we see God creating the sky as part of His six-day creation process, where He separates the waters above from the waters below to create an atmosphere (Genesis 1:6-8).
