Why Does God Care About Money?

God cares about money because it is a reflection of our heart and a measure of our trust in Him. The Bible warns that when we love money, we will never be satisfied with it (Ecclesiastes 5:10). This is because our hearts are wired to crave more, and money becomes an idol that we worship. However, when we offer our money to God, we are magnifying Him and worshipping Him (Matthew 6:19-21). This is not about God needing our money, but about us recognizing that He is the source of all our resources and blessings.

God cares about money because it is a spiritual barometer that reveals our priorities and values. Jesus taught that our attitude towards money is a reflection of our relationship with Him (Matthew 6:24). When we trust in God, we will have all we need, and our focus will be on living a life of obedience to His ways (Philippians 4:19). On the other hand, when we trust in money, we will be led astray and will never be satisfied (1 Timothy 6:10). God wants us to prioritize Him above all else, including our financial security.

The Bible teaches that God is not concerned with our wealth or poverty in this life (Psalm 63:11). What matters is not how much money we have, but whether we will live a life forever with Him. Jesus' parable of the rich fool (Luke 12:13-21) warns us against trusting in money and warns us that it will not protect us from God's judgment. Instead, God wants us to trust in Him and seek His presence above all else. When we do, we will experience true satisfaction and security, regardless of our financial circumstances. As the psalmist says, "You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God, I will extol you" (Psalm 118:28). This is the heart of why God cares about money – He wants us to prioritize Him above all else.
