How do I find the strength to keep going when everything feels so dark?
Finding Strength in the Dark
When everything feels dark, it can be challenging to find the strength to keep going. The Bible reminds us that darkness is not the absence of God, but rather an opportunity for Him to speak and guide us. When we are in the dark, we need to listen and not try to talk to others or seek answers from books. Instead, we should remain quiet and listen for God's message. As Psalm 88:18 says, "Darkness is my closest friend." This doesn't mean that we enjoy being in the dark, but rather that we understand that it is a time for listening and seeking guidance from God.
Faith and Strength
Faith is not about knowing what to do or how to feel, but rather trusting that God will do something, even when we don't know what. We need to talk to God continually and claim His promises, even when we feel weak or uncertain. As we walk in the light, we will experience the power of God's strength and guidance. It's essential to recall our past experiences when we walked in the light and to use those memories to guide us through the dark times. When we feel the Spirit giving us a sense of restraint, we should call a halt and make things right, or else we will quench and grieve Him without realizing it.
Finding Encouragement
In the midst of darkness, it's easy to get caught up in negative thoughts and feelings. However, we don't have to listen to those voices. We can find encouragement, hope, and strength in the midst of our valley by turning to God and His Word. We can pray, meditate on Scripture, and seek guidance from trusted friends and mentors. As we walk through the dark times, we will emerge stronger and more resilient, and God will use us to shine His light in the midst of our struggles. He wants us to sustain us in every dark night, and He wants the enemies to watch us shine, so that they will turn their attention to the One who has the ability to keep our face beaming (Romans 14:11).
