The Greatest Love We Can Show to Others

The Bible teaches that the greatest love we can show to others is the love that is based on the Spirit of love that we have been given. This love is not just a feeling, but a command from Jesus that we love each other (John 15:12). When we love others in this way, we become a united body that brings glory to Christ and displays to the world the greatness of God's love.

The Bible also teaches that love is the greatest of the three theological virtues of faith, hope, and love (1 Cor 13:13). This is because love is the purpose and goal of faith and hope. Love involves having a servant's heart, a willingness to count others better than yourself and to serve and look out for their interests as well as your own (Gal. 5:13b14; Phil. 2:3). This kind of love is not self-centered, but rather selfless and focused on the needs of others. As Jesus said, "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35).

In order to show this kind of love to others, we need to be filled with the Spirit of love and to have a heart that is surrendered to God's will. We need to be willing to serve others and to put their needs before our own. We need to be willing to communicate openly and honestly with others, and to show them respect and kindness. As we do this, we will experience the blessings of abiding joy, genuine satisfaction, exemplary honor, and pure allure. We will have relationships that are truly personal, intimacy that truly fulfills, and power in our lives from the love of God. This is the greatest love we can show to others, and it is a love that will truly last. I believe that this love is the greatest because it is the purpose and goal of faith and hope, and it is the sign to all people that we are God's disciples. It is the love that will continue forever, and it is the love that will bring glory to God.
