Your Question:
What's the point of even trying when I'm just going to fail?
Answer:
I've been in situations where I felt like giving up, especially when it comes to my ministry as a pastor. But I've learned that it's not about being a failure, it's about how we react to our failures. When we fail, it doesn't mean we're a failure, it means we failed to find where we can be productive in God's kingdom. For me, it's about getting my eyes on God and not on the problem. I need to remember that God is working everything out for my good, even when things seem overwhelming. I need to get proactive and come up with a new strategy to handle failure. I need to pray and ask God to help me react by faith to any future failures. And I need to be accountable to someone, whether it's a prayer partner or a mentor, to make sure I'm following through on my new strategy. When I was studying for my doctorate, I faced many challenges and felt like giving up. But I learned that it's not about being a failure, it's about how we react to our failures. I can choose to see my failure as a chance to learn and grow, or I can let it defeat me. I want to be a person of obstacle-overcoming faith, who can face discouragement with confidence and faith. I want to be able to say, "Lord, when I fail, I will..." and have a plan in place to move forward.
