Is it wrong to wish I had never been born?

From a Christian perspective, wishing you had never been born is a reflection of the work of darkness, not a heart filled with the Holy Spirit. This is not a healthy or biblical attitude. The Bible teaches us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that God has redeemed us and knows our name (Isaiah 43:1). Rather than wishing we had never been born, we should focus on our purpose and the good that God has planned for us. As John Wyclif said, "I did not conceive myself to be born in vain."

Wishing you had never been born can also be seen as a reflection of a lack of hope. The Bible teaches us to trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. We are not alone in our struggles, and God is always working for our good. As the apostle Paul wrote, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). We should not give in to feelings of despair or hopelessness, but rather seek to trust in God's goodness and love.

In addition, wishing you had never been born can be seen as a rejection of the gift of life that God has given us. As the Bible teaches, "You were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God" (John 1:13). We are not just random products of chance, but rather children of God, created in His image. We should be grateful for the life that God has given us, and seek to live it for His glory. Rather than wishing we had never been born, we should focus on living a life that honors God and brings joy to those around us. This is a more biblical and healthy attitude to have.
