Fears are loud and demanding, and they can control us, even when we know they are irrational. Fear can arise from trusting in things that don't last, such as physical beauty or people who may let us down. It can also come from a sense of powerlessness, leading to avoidance and withdrawal. When we feel powerless, we may act depressed, and our world becomes smaller. Fears left unattended can lead to depression, which can intensify fears about the unknown, such as death. Even if we are confident that we will be with Jesus, the unknown can still be intimidating. Respectful worry is not a problem, but an attitude of dependence on God can bring a sense of peace and satisfaction.

Depression can also come from a sense of being trapped in a system that is poorly designed, leading to feelings of being stuck and unable to move forward. When we feel like we're not becoming more of a person of love, it can be a sign that our system of life is off track. The Enemy can use temptation to make us feel like we're not good enough, and we may turn to things that don't bring us lasting joy. Fear can also arise from trusting in things that don't last, such as our physical appearance or people who may let us down.

The Bible reminds us that God promises to provide for our needs, and we can trust in Him to take care of us. When we feel scared and uncertain, we can turn to God and ask for His help. We don't have to face our fears alone, and God promises to be with us through all of life's challenges. By trusting in God and depending on Him, we can find peace and satisfaction, even in the midst of uncertainty. We can learn to go out in dependence on God, and our lives will have a sacred and inexpressible charm about them that is very satisfying to Jesus.
