Losing a Sense of Self: A Journey of Spiritual Growth

Losing a sense of self can be a painful and disorienting experience. It can feel like you've lost your identity, your purpose, and your sense of direction. But what if this loss is not a negative event, but rather a catalyst for spiritual growth and transformation? The Bible teaches that God created us to create, to make things that bring joy and value to ourselves and others. When we lose our sense of self, it may be because we've stopped creating in a thoughtful and worshipful manner.

This can happen when we become so focused on our own needs and desires that we neglect our relationships, our work, and our responsibilities. We may become so self-absorbed that we lose sight of our purpose and our values. As the Bible says, "Whoever loses their life for me will find it" (Matthew 10:39). In other words, when we surrender our old self and its desires, we can discover a new sense of purpose and identity in Christ. Finding a New Sense of Self

So, why did you have to lose your sense of self, and your job, and your business, and your family? Perhaps it was because you were living a life that was not centered on God. Maybe you were so focused on your own success and happiness that you neglected your relationships and your responsibilities. But now, you have the opportunity to discover a new sense of self, a self that is centered on God and His purposes. This is not a loss, but a gain, a chance to rediscover your true identity and purpose in Christ. As the Bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). In Christ, you can find a new sense of self, a sense of purpose and identity that is rooted in His love and His presence.
