Understanding Trust in God

When we're at our breaking point, trusting God can be a daunting task. We may feel like giving up or blaming Him for our circumstances. However, trust in God is not about ignoring our struggles or difficulties, but rather about recognizing His sovereignty and goodness in the midst of them. As the Bible reminds us, "Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge" (Psalm 62:8). Trusting God means acknowledging His presence and power, even when we don't understand what's happening.

Degrees of Trust

Trust in God comes in varying degrees, and it's not about being perfect or having all the answers. Some may struggle to trust Him for even the smallest things, while others may have a deeper sense of assurance and confidence in His goodness. The Bible teaches that faith, or trust, can be great or little, weak or strong (Mark 11:22-24). This means that we can start with a small amount of trust and gradually increase it as we grow in our relationship with God. The key is to recognize that trust is not a one-time decision, but rather a continuous process of surrendering our lives to Him.

Exercising Faith

When we're at our breaking point, it's essential to exercise faith by trusting God, even when we don't feel like it. The Bible encourages us to "come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). This means that we can trust God to carry us through our struggles and difficulties. As we surrender our lives to Him, we can experience a deeper sense of peace and confidence in His goodness. The Bible reminds us, "According to your faith let it be to you" (Matthew 9:29). This means that our level of trust determines the level of blessings we receive from God. So, let's reevaluate our level of trust in God and ask Him to increase our faith, so we can experience the peace and rest that comes from trusting Him.
