Why did I have to lose the use of my body?
As a Christian, I believe that our bodies are a gift from God and a temple for His Spirit. Therefore, when we lose the use of our body, it can be a difficult and trying experience. The Bible teaches us that our bodies are not our own, but rather a vessel for God's Spirit to dwell within (1 Corinthians 6:19). This means that we must care for and steward our bodies well, as they are a reflection of God's love and care for us.
The reasons for losing the use of our body can be varied, but ultimately, they can be attributed to the fall of humanity. Since sin entered the world, our bodies gradually weaken and waste away. Diseases, deterioration from old age, and other physical struggles are all a result of this sin. However, as Christians, we have hope that one day our bodies will be redeemed and brought back to their original state of perfection, as God created them to be.
In the meantime, we must learn to trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, even in the midst of physical struggles. We must remember that our bodies are not our own, but rather a gift from God, and that He has a purpose for them, even in their weakness. As the Bible teaches, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9). We must trust that God's ways are good and that He is working all things together for our good, even in the midst of physical struggles. (Romans 8:28)
