Biblical Answer

When everything seems against us, it can be tempting to give up and lose sight of our purpose. However, the Bible teaches us that God is sovereign over all creation, and He is always working for our good, even when circumstances seem bleak (Romans 8:28). As believers, we are called to trust in God's goodness and sovereignty, even when we don't understand what's happening around us. This trust is not blind, but it is based on the promise of God's Word and the evidence of His past faithfulness in our lives.

In the midst of struggles, it's easy to get caught up in a cycle of fighting and resistance, but the Bible warns us that this can be a sign of our own desires and lusts warring within us (James 4:1-3). Instead of trying to outfight our enemies or circumstances, we are called to get alone with God and do battle before Him (Ephesians 6:10-18). This means seeking God's wisdom, guidance, and strength, and trusting in His power to overcome any obstacle. As we fight the battle before God, we can persevere in the midst of prolonged wars, knowing that God is fighting for us (2 Timothy 2:3).

In the end, the point of fighting is not to win a physical or external battle, but to stand firm in our faith and commitment to God's will. As we trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, we can love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:30-31). This kind of love-motivated anger, which is rooted in a deep commitment to justice and righteousness, is what drives us to stand up for what is right, even when it's hard. It's a love that is not driven by a desire to win arguments or prove ourselves, but by a desire to honor God and bring glory to His name.
