What's the point of living if I've lost everything?
When we've lost everything, it can be hard to find the point of living. It's easy to feel like we've been dealt a bad hand, that we've been left with nothing. But the Bible says, "For to me to live is Christ" (Philippians 1:21). This means that our purpose in life is not found in accumulating wealth, status, or possessions, but in living for Christ. We are not defined by what we have or don't have, but by our relationship with Him.
The Bible also teaches that we can lose our lives in order to gain them. This means that we must surrender our old lives to Christ and be transformed by Him. We must check our pride at the door and become willing to lose ourselves in the service of others. As Jesus said, "Whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it" (Mark 8:35). This is not a call to be masochistic or to seek out suffering, but to find true fulfillment and purpose in living for Christ.
When we've lost everything, it can be hard to see the point of living. But the Bible says that we are not just physical beings, but spiritual beings created in the image of God. We have a responsibility to live for something greater than ourselves, to create and build something that will outlast us. As the Bible says, "We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10). Our purpose in life is not just to survive, but to thrive, to live a life that honors God and brings glory to Him.
