When we're forced to let go of our identity, it can be a painful and disorienting experience. This is because our identity is often closely tied to our sense of self and our place in the world. The process of letting go of our old identity and embracing a new one can be a difficult and painful process. As the Bible says, "If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17). This means that our old identity is gone, and a brand-new one has taken its place. This is a process of transformation that requires us to let go of our old self and to take on a new one. It's a process that's guided by Jesus, who is the one who defines us and gives us our true identity. As we look to Jesus, we can trust that he will guide us through this process and help us to become the person he created us to be.
