Your Question:
Does God really care about me anymore?
Answer:
I've been feeling a bit down lately, and I've been wondering if God really cares about me anymore. I've been reading this passage that says God doesn't expect us to endure, and it's made me feel like I've been relying too much on worldly opinion instead of Him. But I know that's not true. As a pastor, I've seen time and time again how God cares for His people, even when we feel like we're not measuring up. You see, God's care for us isn't just about our actions, but about who we are as creatures. He wants us to be related to Him in a certain way, and when we have a right-standing relationship with Jesus Christ, He pours rivers of living water through us. It's amazing to think about what He can do through us when we're connected to Him. And it's not just about what He can do through us, but also about how He cares for us individually. He remembers our work and the love we've shown Him, and He disciplines us out of love to keep us from having to bear the full brunt of His severity. I know it's easy to feel like God doesn't care about us when things aren't going well, but that's not true. He's a God of love and mercy, and He wants to teach us more and more about Himself. I've been praying Ephesians 1:17-19 and 3:16-21, asking God to teach me more about His character. And I've been reading books about the character of God, trying to get a better understanding of who He is. It's amazing to think about how much He cares for us, and how much He wants to use us to bring glory to Himself.
