The Reality of God's Care

Does God really care about me anymore? This question may arise when we feel like our prayers have gone unanswered, or when we've experienced a series of unfortunate events. However, the Bible teaches us that God's care for us is not dependent on our circumstances or our performance. In Isaiah 46:3-4, God says, "I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you" (NLT). This verse reminds us that God's care is not a feeling that comes and goes, but a promise that He is always with us, from our birth to the end of our lives.

Removing Obstacles to Faith

Sometimes, our doubts and frustrations about God's care can be rooted in misunderstandings or misconceptions about God's nature and character. For example, we may believe that God is chronically disappointed in us or that He likes us more when we're good. However, the Bible teaches us that God's love for us is not based on our performance, but on His own nature as a loving God. In Luke 11:5-8, Jesus illustrates the Shrouding of His Friendship, where God's love for us is not based on our worthiness, but on His own desire to love and care for us. This understanding can help us to overcome our doubts and fears, and to trust in God's love and care for us.

The Evidence of God's Care

So, how can we know that God really cares about us? The evidence is not just in our feelings or circumstances, but in the way God has demonstrated His love and care for us through Jesus Christ. In John 3:16, we read, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (NIV). This verse reminds us that God's love for us is not just a feeling, but a demonstration of His willingness to sacrifice Himself for us. When we understand this, we can begin to see that God's care for us is not something that we earn or deserve, but something that He freely gives to us out of His love and kindness. As the Bible says, "You have been a help to me in my distress. You have been a refuge for me. Do not turn away from me. Do not abandon me!" (Psalm 71:12 NLT). This verse reminds us that God is always there for us, ready to help and support us in times of need.
