The Harvest of Love

When life gets busy, it's easy to get caught up in the daily grind and lose sight of what's truly important. We may find ourselves seeking fulfillment in various relationships, hoping that the next romantic partner or close friend will finally make us feel good about ourselves. However, this approach to love is misguided. The Bible teaches us that love is not just a feeling, but a way of living that brings life to those around us. When we love the way God wants us to, we love consistently, all the time, and not just when it's convenient or when we feel like it.

The problem with seeking love in relationships is that it's often based on a false premise. We believe that if we can just find the right person or have the right feelings, we'll finally be fulfilled. But this approach ignores the fact that our true needs can only be met by God. We may try to fill the void in our lives with material possessions, accomplishments, or even romantic relationships, but ultimately, we'll always come up short. The Bible says that without love, even the most selfless acts are meaningless (1 Corinthians 13:3). We need love to overflow in a limitless geyser up to God and out to others. We need to have our love ride and expand upon an endless horizon, not just in our relationships, but in our daily lives.

The harvest of love is not just a feeling or a momentary experience, but a way of living that brings life to those around us. When we love the way God wants us to, we love consistently, all the time, and not just when it's convenient or when we feel like it. We sacrifice for others without expecting anything in return, and we seek to bring life to those around us. This is the kind of love that God desires, and it's the key to experiencing the good life. As the Bible says, "Love is the willingness to surrender that which has value to us for the sake of others" (1 Corinthians 13:3). When we live this kind of love, we'll find that our lives are filled with purpose, joy, and fulfillment, even in the midst of busy and chaotic lives.
