Why did god take away my ability to enjoy life?
God takes away our ability to enjoy life for a purpose, not to harm us. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). This verse highlights God's sovereignty and love for humanity. He grants us the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, and this gift is not based on our accomplishments or choices but on His love and mercy.
The Bible teaches that we were created to enjoy life, but not in the way the world defines it. Our purpose is to know and enjoy God Himself, not just to seek happiness or fulfillment in worldly things. As the Psalmist says, "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand" (Psalm 16:11). Our joy and satisfaction come from knowing and serving God, not from seeking happiness in temporary things.
When we struggle to enjoy life, we must trust that God is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). He takes away our ability to enjoy life to bring us closer to Himself and to help us develop character and dependence on Him. As the Bible says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance" (James 1:2-3). We must learn to see God's sovereignty in our struggles and trust that He is working all things together for our good. This trust will help us to enjoy life in a deeper and more meaningful way, even in the midst of difficulties and challenges.
