Praying in Faith

Praying in faith means trusting in God's provision through the fulfillment of His promises. This acceptance of God's provision is expressed in both act and attitude. Faith in prayer is not a feat of psychological gymnastics, but rather a direct personal request to God for His intervention. It is a unity with all that Christ stands for, seeking to set forward Christ himself, and ultimately, the glory of God.

Faith and Prayer

Faith is not simply believing something without evidence or logic, but rather finding and claiming the promises of God in every situation, and making logical assumptions based on those promises. Faith means being fully persuaded that God has the power to do what He has promised. It is a trust that God will indeed answer the prayer, in spite of the supplicant's acknowledgment of sin. This trust is expressed in prayer as a personal communion with a personal God, not an abstract force or a cosmic consciousness.

Praying Continually

Praying in faith means praying continually, as Paul urges in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. This puts prayer on a far higher plane than mere intercession. It means talking to God like a friend, discovering that He is hearing and answering prayers. Praying continually also means praying as we drive, talk to others, and seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. It is a way of life, a way of trusting in God's provision and power in every situation. Ultimately, praying in faith is about giving expression to a unity with all that Christ stands for, and seeking the glory of God.
