what's the point of fighting when everything's against me?
The Futility of Fighting When Everything's Against You
When everything seems to be against you, it can be overwhelming to think about fighting back. The enemy, Satan, is a formidable foe who will stop at nothing to destroy you. He tries to outfight you (because God fights for you), he tries to outwait you. Perseverance is what you need in prolonged wars. Paul says to Timothy, "Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus" (2 Tim. 2:3). However, it's essential to remember that the battle for your life is fought and won in your mind. You can think your way into changing your life for good.
The key to victory lies in recognizing that the battle is not just external, but also internal. The Lord Almighty is for you, and He has established a beachhead of victory through Christ. But the rest is up to you. You must be ready to fight, to win the battle for your mind. If you're not ready to fight, you're not going to win. Once you lose the battle for your mind, you are done. Defeated. Jesus gives you the nikos, His accomplished work on the cross, the defeat of sin. He has established a foundation of victory, and from this foundation, you now fight.
The enemy will try to steal from you everything you value. He wants to kill everything in your life that's good. Ultimately, he wants to destroy you. If he can claim the victory over your mind, he can eventually claim the victory over your life. But God is with you, and He fights for you. Remember, your fight is not with your child, it's with the devil. He is your enemy, not your child. Stand firm in your faith, and know that God is for you. Don't give the enemy a seat at your table. He will try to undermine your efforts, to criticize you, and to say things about you that aren't true. But you must not let him win. You must be brave, persevere, and fight for your life. The Lord Almighty is for you, and He will give you the strength and the courage to overcome any obstacle.
