Why do I feel like I'm drowning in this?
If you're feeling overwhelmed and struggling to cope, I want to encourage you to take a step back and examine the underlying issues. It's easy to get caught up in the immediate problems and feel like we're drowning, but often, the root cause of our struggles lies deeper. It's possible that we're not addressing the real issues, and instead, we're trying to find quick fixes or distractions to mask our pain.
As a Christian, I believe that our struggles often stem from a lack of connection with God. We may feel far from Him, but that's not necessarily because He's absent, but rather because we're not seeking Him out. Our desires for love, comfort, and security can be met in Him, but we need to be intentional about seeking Him. This means taking time to pray, read the Bible, and seek guidance from others. It's not about trying to "get it right" or feeling guilty for not being perfect, but about surrendering to God and allowing Him to work in our lives.
When we feel like we're drowning, it's essential to remember that God is sovereign over all things, including our struggles. He's not caught off guard by our emotions or circumstances, and He's working everything out for our good (Romans 8:28). Instead of trying to control the situation or find our own solutions, we can trust in God's goodness and provision. This doesn't mean that we won't face challenges or difficulties, but it means that we can face them with confidence, knowing that God is with us and will see us through. As we seek to be with Jesus and surrender to His will, we can find peace, comfort, and guidance in the midst of our struggles.
