Losing one's sense of purpose can be a confusing and disorienting experience. As a pastor, I've seen many individuals struggle with this very issue, including those who have been battling depression. It's essential to recognize that our purpose must come from a personal place, one that is rooted in our relationship with God. When we talk about purpose, it's not about achieving a specific goal or outcome, but rather about living in accordance with God's plan and will for our lives.

In my own journey, I've come to understand that my purpose is not about being rid of depression, but about living a life that glorifies God. It's about recognizing that God is sovereignly working out His purposes in my life, and that I am called to enjoy Him and take part in His work. As I've grown in my Christian walk, I've come to see that God's purpose is not always clear-cut or easy to understand. Sometimes, it seems to miss the mark, and I'm left wondering what God's plan is. But that's where faith comes in – trusting that God is working everything out for my good, even when I don't understand.

Ultimately, our purpose in life is not about achieving some grand goal or outcome, but about surrendering our will to God's. It's about making a decision to live for His glory, to be our utmost for His highest, and to seek His will above all else. As I've come to understand this, I've found that my sense of purpose has shifted from being about achieving something specific to being about living a life that is pleasing to God. It's a daily decision, one that requires faith and trust in God's sovereignty.
