Your Question:

Why did God allow this to happen to me?

Answer:

As I reflect on my own experiences and the struggles I've faced, I'm reminded of the times when I've questioned why God allowed certain things to happen. Like the time I almost passed out while driving to the ER after breaking two bones in my foot. I couldn't help but ask, "Why did God let me be careless?" But as I looked deeper, I realized that God's ways are not our ways, and He works in mysterious ways to bring about His good purposes.

One reason God may not intervene is that natural laws must work in regular ways for our actions to have consequences. This helps us learn and grow from our mistakes. But it's not just about consequences; it's also about our relationship with God. He wants us to recognize our need for Him and to depend on Him more than we depend on ourselves. As the Bible says, "You must know that you can't do that for yourself. I know that I can't." This is why God allows us to face our struggles and weaknesses, so that we can come to Him in humility and dependence.

In my own life, I've seen God's wisdom and discernment at work in ways that I couldn't take credit for. I've made decisions that seemed right at the time, and God has intervened to spare me from harm. But I've also faced times of struggle and doubt, times when I've wondered if God was listening or if He favored one person over another. Yet, as I look back, I see that God was working all things out for my good, even in the midst of my difficulties. And I've come to realize that His ways are not my ways, and that He is the One Who suffered for me, so that I could live.
