The Problem of Lost Identity

When you've lost your sense of identity, it's easy to feel like you're drifting aimlessly without a purpose or direction. This can be a difficult and isolating experience, especially if you've relied heavily on external sources to define your sense of self. However, as a Christian, you have a unique opportunity to discover your true identity in Christ. This involves surrendering your old self and its practices, and putting on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator (Ephesians 4:24).

Finding Identity in Christ

As you seek to find your identity in Christ, it's essential to understand that this process involves being brought into union with God. This means letting go of your old self and its need for personal achievement, and instead embracing a complete overwhelming sense of being brought into union with God. In this state, your life is transformed and renewed, and you begin to see yourself not in relation to the world, but in relation to the Son of God himself. This is not a loss of individual identity, but rather a discovery of your true self in Christ, who is the image of God (Colossians 1:15).

Living Out Your True Identity

As you begin to understand your true identity in Christ, it's essential to live out of this new self at all costs. This means recognizing that your worth and value come not from external sources, but from your relationship with God. You are no longer defined by your experiences, emotions, or circumstances, but by your union with Christ. In this state, you are free to worship and serve God as a unique individual, without being bound by the limitations of your old self. This is the secret to living a life that is truly transformed and renewed, and it's one that is available to you through your relationship with Christ. May this secret become fully yours, and may you live out of your true identity in Christ at all costs. (Colossians 3:10) Ask yourself these questions: Who am I in relation to God? What does it mean to live out of my true identity in Christ? How can I surrender my old self and its practices, and put on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator? As you reflect on these questions, may you come to a deeper understanding of your true identity in Christ, and may you live out of this new self at all costs.
