Will We Remember Our Life on Earth?

In the context of eschatology, the question of whether we will remember our life on earth is an intriguing one. The Bible speaks of a new heaven and a new earth, where the former things will not be remembered or come into mind (Isaiah 65:17). This verse has been interpreted in various ways, with some suggesting that our memories will be wiped clean, making it impossible for us to recall our past life. As sinless children, we will stand before the Lord, and our memories of our past life will be a vague memory, much like our recollections of our pre-Christian life.

If the universe is indeed fine-tuned for life, capable of observing and interacting with the universe, it is possible that our memories of our life on earth will be retained in some form. In this sense, our memories of our life on earth will not be relevant or necessary in the new heaven and earth, much like our memories of a gas station we passed on the way to a lavish vacation.
