Biblical Answer

Making sense of your faith is a personal and ongoing journey. I've found that starting with the basics is essential. The Bible says, "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12), which can seem daunting, but it's followed by, "For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose" (Philippians 2:13). This reminds us that our faith is not just about our actions, but also about trusting in God's power and presence in our lives.

As I reflect on my own faith journey, I've come to realize that faith is a matter of belief rather than action. It's believing in something, rather than just doing something. The Bible says that faith is a work of the Holy Spirit, produced in us as we commune with the Lord (1 Corinthians 2:11-14). When we're constantly talking to Christ and seeking His presence in our lives, it becomes easier to trust Him. This is what I call "the practice of the presence of God."

As you seek to grow in your faith, I encourage you to start with the basics. Read the Bible, pray, and seek to understand God's character and how He works in the world. As you do, remember that faith is not just about you, but about trusting in God's power and presence. When you see what God is doing in your life, it'll be the beginning of your spiritual growth. And always remember, "He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it" (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
